EFT Tapping Looks Ridiculous yet it Really Does Work

I admit. Tapping looks ridiculous. How can tapping on your head really change your life?

I felt that way for YEARS. I just couldn’t get over how silly it looked.

When I saw videos of Brad Yates or the Jessica Ortner rave about EFT, I would watch with curious eyes for a little bit and would eventually click away. How on Earth can tapping help? Aren’t I supposed to think positively and act as if my dreams came true for them to really turn up?

If I had a problem, I journaled about it or called a friend to vent. This was my approach for YEARS. As I swung from one personal development workshop to retreat to coaching program, I was still STUCK repeating the same patterns in my life.

No matter how much effort I put towards my goals, the results seemed so close, yet so far away. UGH!

Why? Because I didn't clear out the stored stress from my physiology or disempowering beliefs that blocked me from making lasting changes. You don't know what you don't know, right?

Then, a friend was studying for their EFT certification and I volunteered to be a practice client. My take on it? I liked having someone to talk to but didn't grasp the concept of energy psychology. 

Years later, I designed tapping script PDFs for a client and was reunited with EFT again. I absolutely LOVED the empowering phrases. I'm all for positive self-talk, but what was tapping actually doing to my body on an energetic level?

Months later, I was SO determined to change my financial life for the better, I did the online course, 7 Weeks to Financial Success and Personal Fulfillment with The Tapping Solution. As I tapped along with the recordings, I started to feel lighter in my body. As if a weight was lifted. Maybe it's working?

I was so inspired by the subtle shift in my energy that I wanted to work with someone one-on-one. Then, I met Kelly Renee on Facebook who was starting out and needed EFT clients to practice with. Perfect! Let's see what's possible.

That's when the magic started to happen for me!

We got to know each other and realized we had so much in common. I felt comfortable telling her my story. We tapped on my struggle with numbers (my relationship to time & money were a bit skewed)—something that always plagued me. As we tapped, I unraveled old stories that weren't even mind.

Our beliefs are programmed by family (and society) at a very young age. If you don't uncover the emotions or beliefs UNDERNEATH your issues, you'll repeat the same patterns over and over again. Tapping (or other energy work) will help you rewire new neural pathways in the brain, which will catapult you towards your goals much faster than talk therapy, because you're healing the brain and body. It's SO cool!

HOW DOES EFT WORK
Like acupuncture, tapping focuses on the meridian points — or energy centers — to restore balance to your body's energy. When you tap on these acupuncture points, you send a calming signal to the amygdala (an almond-shaped part of the brain), which is responsible for the fight or flight response. Tapping also lowers cortisol (the stress hormone) and blood pressure. When the issue comes up again, you'll be less stressed about it.

Pair the somatic stimulation with positive psychology and you’ve got a recipe for stress relief and feeling more empowered!
